Members voted at the Annual General Meeting to award Mark Watson Life Membership, recognising an extraordinary contribution to refereeing spanning more than three decades.
Mark has been refereeing for over 31 years and, in that time, has officiated in excess of 3,600 fixtures. This level of involvement places him among the most experienced officials within the Association and reflects a long-standing commitment to the game at every level.
In addition to his extensive on-field experience, Mark is an active and respected mentor, playing a key role in supporting, developing and guiding referees throughout their careers. His calm approach, knowledge of the game and willingness to give his time have made a meaningful difference to many officials.
Mark has also contributed significantly away from the pitch, having held a variety of roles within the Referees’ Association over the years. Through these positions, he has helped shape the organisation and support its continued development.
The award of Life Membership reflects both Mark’s exceptional service and the high regard in which he is held by the membership.
Congratulations to Mark on a well-earned honour, and thank you for his continued commitment to refereeing.
