At this year’s Annual General Meeting, members voted to award Brian Cooke Life Membership, in recognition of his outstanding service and long-standing contribution to refereeing in and around Chester.

Life Membership is one of the highest honours available and is reserved for individuals who have shown exceptional commitment over many years. Brian’s dedication, consistency and presence across the local game make him a truly deserving recipient.

Brian is a well-known and widely respected figure within Chester’s refereeing community. He is recognised not only by fellow referees, but also by players, club officials and spectators across numerous leagues and competitions. His regular involvement, professionalism and approachability have made him a familiar and trusted presence on matchdays.

Covering a wide range of leagues, Brian has continued to represent refereeing standards with pride, contributing significantly to the visibility and reputation of referees in the area. His experience and commitment have helped set an example for others and strengthened the relationship between referees and the wider football community.

The decision to award Life Membership was formally approved by a vote of the membership at the AGM, reflecting the high esteem in which Brian is held.
