Introducing Chester RA’s 2024/25 Committee: A Blend of Experience and Fresh Faces

As we approach the 2024/25 season, Chester Referees’ Association (RA) is proud to introduce our newly agreed committee. This dedicated team is set to lead our association with a mix of seasoned experience and new energy, ensuring that we continue to support and develop referees across the region.

President – John Devlin

We are honoured to have John Devlin serve as our President for the upcoming season. John brings a wealth of experience, having spent many years both as a referee and an observer. Though now retired from active officiating, his commitment to the RA remains unwavering. John’s deep understanding of the game and his continued involvement in our association make him an invaluable asset, and we are confident that his leadership will inspire both current and future members.

Chair – Lewis Gerrard

Lewis Gerrard returns for his second year as Chairman, following a successful inaugural term. His leadership last season was marked by a strong emphasis on fostering community spirit and providing robust support for our members. As he steps into his second year, Lewis is eager to build on this foundation, ensuring that Chester RA remains a welcoming and supportive environment for referees at all levels.

Vice Chair – Mark Watson

Mark Watson, our Vice Chair, brings both friendliness and experience to the role, having previously served as Chairman. Mark’s approachable nature and deep understanding of the challenges faced by referees make him an excellent support for Lewis. His experience in leadership roles within the RA will undoubtedly contribute to a smooth and productive season.

Secretary – Jamie Holmes

Jamie Holmes continues in his vital role as Secretary. Jamie’s organisational skills and attention to detail are key to the smooth running of our association. Whether it’s coordinating meetings, managing communications, or ensuring that our administrative tasks are handled efficiently, Jamie is the backbone that keeps us all on track.

Treasurer & Welfare Officer – Jay Holmes

Jay Holmes is a familiar face in our committee, taking on the dual responsibilities of Treasurer and Welfare Officer. As Treasurer, Jay ensures our finances are managed with precision and transparency, safeguarding the financial health of our association. In his role as Welfare Officer, Jay’s commitment to the well-being of our members shines through. He is always available to provide support, ensuring that our referees have a safe and positive environment in which to develop their skills.

Recruitment Officer – Liam Power

We are excited to welcome Liam Power as our new Recruitment Officer. Liam is stepping into this role with fresh enthusiasm and a passion for bringing new talent into the refereeing community. His focus will be on attracting new members to Chester RA, ensuring that we continue to grow and thrive as an association. With Liam’s dedication, we are confident that the future of refereeing in Chester is in good hands.

As we look ahead to the 2024/25 season, Chester RA is in excellent hands with this committee. Each member brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the table, and together, they are committed to supporting our referees and fostering a strong, vibrant refereeing community.
